Admiral EdwardHawker (1782-1860) went to sea in 1793, was promoted to captain in 1804, a nd later was Flag-Captain to Sir Richard Goodwin Keats, Commander-in-Chief,Newfoundland. He became rear-admiral in 1837, vice-admiral in 1847 and adm iral in 1853. Contemporary penned name, else a very good rebound copy. 300.00
