MURPHY, Rowley. "An Artist with the Royal Canadian Navy". An article in Maritime Art : A Canadian Art Magazine, Vol. 3, No. 2, December-January 1942-3. Pp. 44-47, concluding on pp. 65-6. 8vo, stapled white ill. card covers. Much of Toronto artist Rowley Murphy's work has been done at sea. When war broke out in 1939, Murphy spent all of his available time aboard various ships of the navy making war records. Four examples of his paintings are presented in this article. Cover just barely detaching at stapled spine, some rust spots at staples, light foxing to front, rubbed, else vg. for the issue 75.00
