O'Dea 1744. Frontispiece : "Signal Hill, Harbor of St.John's". With the following observation on St.John's : "Both sides of the bay stood out sharp, revealing a harbor that from many viewpoints is as beautiful as that of Naples." - p.14. Also a rare Canadian reggie-spotting reference : "He had another hankering, too, that was to ride on the trains. He used to collect engine numbers any time he was in St.John's." - p.96.
