James Arminius Richey, of Seaforth, Nova Scotia. The 7th stanza states : “Would we back to the methods or fathers approved, / To the horses and coaches and crafts that they loved? / Or shall telegraphs, railroads, and steamers be planned, / And our land be protected, confederate land? / We submit to the gains and the losses we feel, / And the age we've attained has no thought of repeal.” Light foxing, vertical crease, corner creases, short tear to bottom edge, else very good. 50.00

The 1st stanz a states : “'Tis but a sentiment,” they say, / The love of country or of race - / A weakness at our time of day; / And weakness is a man's disgrace.”;and the 13th : “O Canada! I love thee well, / With more than Greek or Roma n pride, / And claim within thy camp to dwell, / And stand by thee whate'erbetide.
