Illustrated. 4to, brown boards with pressed device to front, five raised bands and gilt titles to spine (written vertically, inside double gilt border). "This facsimile editionof 'L'art de naviguer' by Pedro de Medina is based on a copy found in the library of the city of Antwerp, Belgium, of the first French edition which was published in Lyon in 1554 by Guillaume Rouille. The work was originallypublished in 1545 in Valladolid, Spain, and was translated into the French by Nicolas de Nicolai." This edition was limited to 1000 copies throughout the world, of which this copy is number 687. Text in French. Very small bu mp to top edge of front boards, else a very nice copy. 125.00
