"Sladen makes dramatic use of the incidents of railway travel, but he also gives thorough coverage of regions and peoples, social pleasures, special sights such as the Toronto Exhibition and the Brandon experimental farm. He uses the Perspective of two travelling companions, "the Pretty Girl" and "theSensible Woman" to augment his own experience. [...] Handsomely produced a nd entertainingly written." - Waterston.
