Joyce Fieguth, née Epp (b. 1925, Rosthern, Saskatchewan).

"As a six-week-old baby, Joyce Epp and her somewhat naive young parents Isaac and Sarah travelled by horse and wagon, with a cow ties behind and a few dishes and doilies packed carefully away, to being a new life of homesteading north of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. They and the members of their extended family who also made the trek had almost nothing: no income, and few material possessions.

Yet despite poverty and challenges, their life was a rich and happy one. Flour Sacks and Binder Twine tells the story of pioneering in the 1920s and 30s in a community where everything was made out of or held together by bleached flour sacks and an abundance of binder twine, reinforced by great measures of family love and faith in God." - from the rear cover.
