"Francis William Gray (1877-1958), a native of Yorkshire, England, came to Canada in 1904 with experience in the Britishcoal mining industry and accepted a position with the Dominion Coal Compan y at Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Later he was with the Dominion Steel and Coal Corporation in Sydney (1916-8) and the Nova Scotia Steel and Coal Company (1918-9). From 1919 to 1921 he edited the Canadian Mining Journal. He then rejoined the staff of the Dominion Steel and Coal Corporation, of which he was assistant general manager from 1928 till his retirement in 1945. " - Rhodenizer p.646.
