Of particular nautical interest is Chapter 5 entitled Sea Stories - East and West in which missionary vessels such as the Wm. Swan II, GladTidings, Messenger, Chalmers; Ryerson and the Thos. Crosby IV are mentione d. Emphasis is placed upon the work of the Thos. Crosby IV and its mission to people in remote areas along the British Columbia coast.
