A very early printing of one of Verne's prophetic and exhilarating masterworks, and one of the finest early science-fiction novels, about the adventures of a learned Frenchman aboard the submarine Nautilus, sailing the depths of the oceans on a massive scientific expedition,and the crew's visits to undiscovered lands and their encounters with sea monsters. Spine expertly rebacked, faint dampstain causing some minor wrinkling through the entire volume (extending from the top edge for about a fifth of the page height initially, before reaching half of the volume at the rear; though the stain itself is barely noticeable visually), light edgewear, else vg. 1,250.00
