Single sheet folded twice into a 5.75 by 6.5 inch size, with 4 colour plates. Marguerite Zwicker was born and raised in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, but spent most of her adult life in Halifax. With her husband LeRoy Zwicker, she managed and developed Zwicker's Gallery from the 1940's to the late 1960's. The watercolours and drawingsin this exhibition are mostly new, and this exhibition is a tribute to Nov a Scotia's senior woman artist. A promotional booklet for this show. Very good. 10.00

Mary Marguerite Porter Zwicker (1904-1993) was a Nova Scotian artist known for her scenes of Nova Scotia villages and landscapes rendered in watercolours. A teacher of painting at Acadia University in Wolfville, she alsoconducted painting and cultural tours in Spain, Italy and Portugal. Her tr avels in these countries are expanded upon in this book. Silverfish damage to front cover, lacking back cover, last leaf detached, browning to marginsof last few leaves, glue residue form removal of cloth (?) tape spine, goo d only. Inscribed by the author “With the best for 1960. Marguerite Z.” As is. 50.00
