Stewart, Rudyard Kipling: A Bibliographical Catalogue, 51; Martindell, A Bibliography of the Works of Rudyard Kipling, 1881-1923, 32. Martindell states that "it is asserted that the cover of the firstissue of the first edition lacks the apostrophe before 'Rickshaw' and the stops after 'A' and 'H' in A.H. Wheeler, but this is probably a 'trial' or proof issue, of which three copies are known to exist. The later issues of the first edition had 'Mayo School of Art, Lahore.' 'Mufid I Am Press' on the front cover." (Martindell, p. 27.) Contents : The Phantom 'Rickshaw; My Own True Ghost Story; The Strange Ride of Morrowbie Jukes; The Man who Would be King.
