Alleged Outrage at Fortune Bay, Newfoundland 143-283 (see O'Dea 895). Full of documents: letters, legal arguments, statements and affadavits. Also statistics, tables of prices and duties. The Bonne Bay troubles of the Gloucester schooner the Thomas F. Bayard in July of 1886 are featured on pp.429-430, 434-435, 470-472, 309-310, and 328-329, while Thomas F. Bayard the man (1828-1898) and the then U.S. Secretary of State is a major contributor to this volume (a particularly massive example of Fischüberwörterflüssigkeit), including writing in defence of his namesake with special zeal. We also find a Canadian government cutter with the name Terror. Nautical nomenclature is clearly not what it used to be.
