Bayard the man (1828-1898) and the then U.S. Secretary of State is a major contributor to this volume (a particularly massive example of Fischüberwörterflüssigkeit), including writing in defence of his namesake with special zeal. We also find a Canadian government cutter with the name Terror. Nautical nomenclature is clearly not what it used to be.
