Small 8vo, tan cloth. Toy 446: "The account of a voyage westward from Seattle, 30 September 1934, to New York, 2 September 1937. Long reached New York just in time for the great hurricane of 1937, which wrecked Idle Hour in port and brought the voyage to an end. A plain straightforward narrative of a voyage made with limited means during the Great Depression by the author and one companion." A young American's account of his voyage from Seattle to London in a small wooden ketch, by way of Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand and Australia, Singapore, Ceylon, the Red Sea and Gibraltar.
