An 18th century sermon discussing the many reasons (generally in a biblical context) as to why a man marrying his wife's sister was immoral, whereas marrying his brother's widow, although not as common, would not be seen as completely unacceptable. With references to passages in Leviticus, Exodus and Deuteronomy. Last page detached, four inch tear from the bottom to the centre, affecting the text of pp. 21-26, foxing to the front with some lesser spotting to a number of the margins, fore-edges a little rough, small indistinct notation to top corner.
