An account of the author's time spent at Scapa Flow during the later stages of the First World War, and the few years afterwards, where numerous German naval vessels were interned. This volume includes several dozen black and white photographs of the Scapa defenses during the war,the base's time as an internment center post-war, as well as the natural scenery surrounding Scapa, and the day-to-day lives of those who lived and worked at the base at wartimeand peacetime. Very light nicking to spine ends with light browning to boa rds, sparse spotting to top- and fore-edges, else very good in lightly chipped (1"X2" to upper right corner of front panel affecting top corner of "A"at end of "Scapa"; small chip to head of spine, affecting upper half of "S " in "Scapa"), dust jacket. A very nice copy of a scarce volume. 500.00
