September 11, 2012, Amherst, Nova Scotia). “Susan Manion MacDonald was an unassuming wife and mother who lived what most wouldconsider a normal life, eating a standard American diet and getting regula r medical checkups. Although she suffered from a series of medical complaints, none were considered overly serious - and were treated in the usual wayeach time they occurred - until that fateful day in December, 2002 when sh e heard those most dreaded of words: “You have terminal cancer!”, quickly followed by an explanation that included no reasonable offer of treatment, nor hope. Her decision later that day would change her life forever. Withoutany prior knowledge of medicine, nutrition, or what Susan has termed ”natu ral health”, she began to research every source of information pertaining to this disease (4th stage lymphatic cancer). That research confirmed the initial diagnosis, but she also discovered why her body had descended into that dreadful state: it was filled with toxins from years of factory work; from eating processed and packaged foods; as well as from drinking poor quality water. Immediately she began a detoxification and nutritional support program with the help of a naturopath and nutritionist. She continued to visit her family doctor and an oncologist to obtain necessary medical tests, aswell as to maintain her health insurance. In a year the cancer was gone an d during the next year she became truly healthy for the first time in her adult life. Writing this book was nearly as remarkable, as she had written precious little since leaving school some thirty-five years earlier. It is also a story of courage and perseverance, as there were many setbacks and demons of times past to face and conquer, but today Susan is living what she believes to be her life’s purpose - helping others to become well again. In2006, she became a certified naturotherapist - and this book followed a ye ar later.” - from the back cover. Very good. Signed, without inscription, by the author. 15.00
