Ephraim Scott was born in 1845 among the Gore Hills in Hants County, Nova Scotia. At 19, he apprenticed asa shipbuilder at Maitland. At 20, he heard the call to ministry, attended Dalhousie University and the Presbyterian College in Halifax, and later began his ministry as a student at St. Croix, N.S. Part way through his secondyear, in January 1874, Ephraim Scott surprised a professor who had befrien ded him by bidding him good-bye at the close of a lecture, saying that he was off to Palestine. For six months he travelled through Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Italy and parts of Europe. Very good. 40.00
