Published in the United States under the title "Reno Rendezvous" in the same year, this is a detective novel featuring Ford's usual cast of protagonists: Colonel John Primrose, Sergeant Buck, and Grace Latham, involving divorce difficulties and the murder of Dexter Cromwell, with an investigation that implicates one of Mrs Latham's relations in the crime. Leslie Ford is one of the pseudonyms used by California-born author Zenith Jones (née, Brown). (Jones, b. 8 December 1898, d. 1 September 1983). The bulk of her novels were published earlier in the United States than in England.
