"Sketch Map of the Drift of the Fox down Baffin's Bay in the floating Ice" that was to have faced p. ix is opposite page 9, while the folding "Sketch Map of Arctic Regions at the time of Franklin's Last Expedition" that was to face p. xii actually faces page 12 . 8vo, pressed blue cloth, small gilt illustrationof the Fox to front and gilt lettering to spine. Measures 20.75cm x 13.5cm . See Arctic Bibliography, 10556. McClintock's account of his six years of searching Canada's arctic waters in an attempt to locate the ill-fated Franklin expedition. Spine and top edge sunned, top edge dampstained (not affecting text, slightly onto frontis.), bump near head of front hinge causing some minor splaying, else vg. 300.00

Measures 20.0cm x 12.0cm. See Arctic Bibliography 10556. McClintock's account of his six years of searching Canada's arctic waters in an attempt to locate the ill-fated Franklin expedition. Spine andtop edge sunned brown, some wear to spine ends, folding plate between pp. 254-5 torn with sizeable portion missing (but facsimile of whole plate fromdifferent edition laid in), else vg. 225.00
