Robert E. Kroll (b. 1947) was living in Halifax at the time of publication.

"While searching wills probated in Nova Scotia in 1835, I discovered that of the Judge. Its solitary bequest caught my attention. There was no directive for the dispersal of house, furniture, land, money, investments - the usual bequests for a man of substance and position, particularly for a man of the law. There was simply the bequest of the Judge's notebooks and personal papers to Catherine Lehr of Boston, wife of Gotlieb (George Henry) Lehr, deceased, and daughter of Trebor Ellork, deceased." - from p.i of the Foreword. Except for modernizing certain antiquated spellings, I have left the Judge's writings unedited." With a 1985 Christmas gift inscription and three small drip stains to first page, else very good. 17.00
