Box 878", 1973.Pp (2),3-26. 8vo, pale yellow wrappers, side-stapled, tan cloth tape to sp ine. Leslie Sinclair 'Larry.' Loomer (b. 1930, Falmouth, Nova Scotia - d. May 30, 2003, Wolfville, Nova Scotia,) was an artist, writer, editor, historian and antiquarian book dealer. "The subjects of these three word sketcheswere artists from the Maritime Provinces of Canada• Two of them were frien ds. The third, I never met, to my regret. The three had much in common beyond the heritage of the Maritimes. They were remarkably good draftsmen, two of them brilliant draftsmen whose drawings are greatly to be prized. They were also capably literate men, who would have been as much at home in careers of letters as they were in careers of art. The sketches of Jack Humphreyand Miller Brittain were written very shortly after their deaths. I felt t hat both events were serious losses to the creative life of Canada, and still do. These two sketches were publshed originally in The Atlantic Advocateof March, 1968. I have made a few changes in the text, and added some mate rial of a biographical nature that I had used earlier in the essav "Painting in Saint John," published in The Atlantic Advocate of March, 1958. The sketch of Boardman Robinson is published here lor tne first time." (Preface).Limited to 50 numbered and signed copies, this being no. 16. Nicked, else very good. Scarce. 75.00
