An early Sherman Hines project, done shortly after his gr aduation from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. "Alone was published in hounor of the Canadian athletes on the occasion of the first Canadian Summer Olympic Games, Canada Games 1969, Halifax and Dartmouth,N.S. = Solitude a é´té´ publié en l'honneur des athletes Canadiens à l'occ asion des premiers jeux Olympiques d'eté du Canada, Jeux Canada 1969, Halifax et Dartmouth, N.-E." - rear inside cover. The front cover has a small b&w photo of a runner running by B.G. Oxner's Grocery shop on Lincoln Street in Lunenburg. Inside there are several other photos of the same young man running in Lunenburg (including 4 in a fold-out of him running along the tracks at the Lunenburg Railway Station). The last few are shot at a shore. There is a short uncredited text in both English and French, beginning, What was the name of that movie? "What Makes Sammy Run?" What Makes Me Run? Alone.
