A printed form with 125 or so words[with blanks left for dates, &c] regarding an order to pay nine pounds to pay salary to the Court of Kings Bench and Quarter Sessions at Quebec. It is dated January 1, 1829. It appears to be signed by Kempt. There is also a signature of a Thomas Cookson, preumably a clerk, dated January 7, 1829. General Sir James Kempt, GCB GCH (b. ca 1765, Edinburgh, Scotland - d. December 20, 1854, London) the 33rd Governor General of Canada and also the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia.
