LOCKHART, J.G. Blenden Hall: The True Story of a Shipwreck a Casting Away and Life on a Desert Island. NY: Appleton, 1930. Pp 232. Illustrated. 8vo, green cloth. A popular account of the wreck of the Blenden Hall while en route from Gravesend to Bombay in the spring of 1821. The survivors endured great hardship for six months on Inaccessible Island and Tristan de Cunha in the South Atlantic before their ultimate rescue. This book draws heavily from the 1847 volume Fate of the Blenden Hall East Indiaman by Captain Alexander Greig, which in turn was based on a contemporary journal Greig wrote in penguin's blood while still castaway.
